Anybody know when they got rid of the wheel wells in the bedrooms?

I'm trying to find out when they (Newell) got rid of the protruding wheel wells inside the coaches. My 73 had them and my 86 doesn't, does anybody know when the change was made?

Around the 1985 models. Observe the relationship between the top edge of the bay doors vs. the height of the fender opening.
